Partha Dey is a passionate healthcare professional, with nearly two decades of experience in both the provider and payer segments. Healthcare IT (Medical Informatics) and Process (Clinical and administrative) Consulting are his areas of interest.
He has extensive experience in managing multiple transformation projects in India and abroad and exposure to multiple technologies, from mainframe to client server to mobile / social platforms. He has been credited with setting up paperless and filmless hospital in a integrated digital hospital environment in India for the first time. He is well-versed with HL7, HIPAA, DICOM and other Health IT-related protocol. Transformation through digital enablement is his core expertise.
He is leading IBM consulting (sales and delivery) in India/SA region, serving healthcare customers across the region. He manages key accounts and works on complex cross-brand deals at IBM. He has created multiple net new and reference accounts in the healthcare space for IBM, and has managed the largest LIMS implementation for Clinical Diagnostic clients successfully.
He was a founding member of three prominent healthcare institutions: Artemis Health Institute Gurgaon, where he was Head of Operations and CIO and was responsible for building a 350-bed hospital project in a record 14 months and successfully managing it with a team of 500+ people. He was also a founding member of Max Healthcare, Delhi, and was responsible for setting up a hub-and-spoke model, three healthcare centres, establishing seamless integrated process across locations, establishing a unique customer experience as per HMI (Harvard Medical Institution) guidelines, and managing first healthcare centre as profit center head. He was also responsible for the implementation of centrally hosted IT systems. In Apollo Gleneagles Hospital, Kolkata, he has played a vital role during the hospital project stage and establishing in the brand, and managed the most prestigious Diagnostic & Day care unit of Kolkata as a profit centre head before moving to Delhi to join Max Healthcare in 2000.
Partha was also associated with Perot Systems (one of the largest Healthcare consulting organization, presently part of Dell Services) as Healthcare SME and Program Manager, and helped set up a strong healthcare practice in India and deliver projects for US clients.
Partha has deep engagement with multiple healthcare payer and provider customer in various geography, Cerner, UHG, Tenet, Blue Cross Blue Shield, CHW, THR, HCA, Apollo Munich, Max Bupa, Dr Lal Path Lab. Modi Hospital, Manipal—to name a few.
Partha continues coaching healthcare professionals in IBM to make them work efficiently in customer place. As a healthcare trainer, he has conducted multiple training sessions for senior managers at both IBM and Perot Systems.
He is part of various industry forums and a regular speaker at various health IT conferences, such as: E health, Apollo Health IT conference, International conference at AIIMS, Health Insurance conference by Amity University.
He teaches in various health care management institutes as guest faculty. He is also a member of several decision-making committees and forums, like CII, FICII, ASSOCHAM, Government of India Health – IT committee.
He is a post-graduate in Physiology and has a Master's in Hospital and Health Administration (MHA).
